Kathy was born and raised in and around Saskatoon. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Saskatchewan in 2001. She then attended the University of Alberta and completed her Masters of Speech-Language Pathology in 2004. Kathy’s started her career in the Sunrise Health Region. While in Yorkton, she worked with adults, in acute care, and children with Public Health. She discovered she really enjoyed working with adults and worked in a full-time acute care position for several years. While in Regina, she has enjoyed learning about and working with the Head and Neck cancer population as well as the general medicine population.
Kathy began her time with SASLPA as the president-elect in 2013. During her presidency year, she was hired as the Executive Director for SASLPA. Although the Executive Director is not a Council position, the ED is an active participant at Council meetings and represents SASLPA at various provincial and national meetings.
