Mission Statement

SASLPA serves and protects the people of Saskatchewan by regulating and ensuring the competent ethical practice of audiologists and speech-language pathologists in the province. SASLPA empowers its members to maximize the communication and hearing potential of the public by maintaining standards of knowledge and practice.

What We Do

SASLPA is dedicated to assuring that high quality, accessible speech, language, and hearing services are provided to Saskatchewan residents. To meet this goal SASLPA:

- Provides information about communication disorders and appropriate treatment resources.
- Identifies issues and concerns through discussions with consumer groups, government departments and other associations.
- Establishes minimum standards for practice. The association is governed by guidelines set out in The Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists Act (1990).
- Investigates concerns regarding members and services.
- Assists consumers in advocating for speech, language and hearing services
Sponsors workshops and seminars.
- Has a Provincial voice in the Canadian Alliance of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology Regulators (CAASPR), the Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (CASLPA) and Pan Can.

Our Vision of the Future

SASLPA will clearly delineate its roles and responsibilities in the areas of self-regulation, advocacy and education so that the people of Saskatchewan have knowledge of and access to high quality speech-language pathology and audiology services.
